The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team traveled to Westport for a game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greens Farms Academy on Tuesday, February 18, winning 77-72.
It was a back-and-forth battle between the Hornets and the Dragons. Senior Ben Miller led the way with 29 points as senior Jaden Iannaccone and sophomore Christian Cournoo both scored 14 points respectively. Other scorers included junior Amato Civitello, sophomores Caleb Chapman and Justin Ocasio, and eighth-grader Massa Toure.
“Great road win for the team,” noted Coach Sean Doherty. “Everyone played very hard and executed offensively throughout the game.”
Coach Doherty noted that Ben scored his 1,000th career point. The team returns to the court for a match up against King School on Thursday, February 20, at 4:30 p.m., at the Beckerman Athletic Center. The team will also celebrate Senior Night to honor Jaden and Ben.
