Alumnus Earns Top Dental School Honor

Brendan Ruby, Class of 2008, was recently presented the Dr. Bernard E. Rudner Memorial Award at a ceremony at the NYU School of Dentistry in New York City. Brendan was among14 students who demonstrated superior performance in providing oral comprehensive care and administering a dental practice. In 2012, Brendan graduated from the UConn School of Business where he majored in accounting and fulfilled pre-dental requirements. While at UConn, he played on the men's practice squad of the UConn Women's Basketball Team. While applying for dental school, Brendan worked for KPMG—a professional service company and one of the Big Four auditors. In June, Brendan will head to Officer Development School for the U.S. Navy in Newport. He will be commissioned as a Lieutenant. He and his wife, Carly, will move to San Diego in July when he starts his hospital-based general practice residency. The couple married June 11, 2016 on Mason's Island.
