The Co-ed Swimming and Diving Team competed in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Championship on Saturday, March 4, at Cornerstone Aquatics Center with the Boys’ Team placing first with 368 points and the Girls’ Team placing fourth with 175 points.
For the Boys’ Team, seniors Evan Huang and Patrick Cucchiarelli, junior Connor Jermain, and sophomore Eric Huang placed first in both the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:31.82 and the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:23.18. Sophomore Anthony Ferneini placed first in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:01.81 while freshman Jack Cucchiarelli finished the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:11.87.
Eighth-grader Jehan Mody scored 183.65 points in the 1 Meter Diving.
For the Girls’ Team, senior Isabella Ferneini placed first in the 500 Free with a time of 5:26.21 while junior Mason Rickey placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:16.18. For the 100 Yard Butterfly, eighth-grader Alessandra Sticca finished the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:11.65 and freshman Emma Cunningham finished with a time of 1:42.93.
“Everyone put in their best effort this season and as a coach, I could not be prouder,” said Coach Jen Lyman. “Both teams competed well at the championship, and the Boys’ winning for a third year in a row is the cherry on top.”
