Matthew Kennedy, Class of 1997

Matthew Kennedy, of New Haven, alum from the Class of 1997, died over this past weekend. Matthew is survived by his father, Dr. Paul M. Kennedy of New Haven, and his brother, John Kennedy, Class of 1989, of North Carolina.

Matthew enjoyed his work as a RPM Autism Therapist for children.  As his brother John posted on Facebook, "He connected with kids and helped them express themselves. His work with those children was true and real, and one of the best parts of his life." 

Visiting hours will take place on Friday, January 17, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Celentano Funderal Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven. Open-casket from 4 - 5 p.m., and closed-casket from 5 - 6 p.m. The funeral will take place the next day, Saturday, January 18, at St Thomas More Catholic Chaplaincy, 268 Park Street, New Haven, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception with light refreshments from noon - 2 pm. Family and close friends are invited to the burial which will take place at 2 p.m. at the Grove Street Cemetery in New Haven.
