The Boys’ Varsity Ice Hockey Team hosted Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greenwich Country Day School for a game on Thursday, January 16, winning 7-1.
Taking the ice at Blake Rink, the team was out of the gate and quick on the puck. Junior Vincenzo Federico netted three goals with sophomore Chris Tombaugh right behind with two goals. Both senior Niko Millhouse and sophomore Andrew Feldman had one goal and two assists each. Junior Eli Kane had three assists, and junior Tommy Lam had one assist.
“The team displayed excellent teamwork and offensive firepower, finding the back of the net early and often,” said Coach Dante Tomassini. “The defense was solid, with everyone contributing to shutting down any chances from the opposition. It was a gritty, fast-paced performance that showed their resilience and determination to keep the momentum going.”
Coach Tomassini also noted that sophomore Michael Feldman was awarded the Player of the Game for his defensive performance.
The team returns to the ice for a game against Choate on Saturday, January 18, at 1 p.m.
