Girls’ Varsity Basketball Victorious on Senior Night

The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team welcomed Greenwich Academy for a game on Wednesday, January 29, winning 80-25.

The team honored its four seniors as part of Senior Night celebrations. The seniors include Mackenzie Mori, Summer Krajcir, Emma Olausson, and team manager Peighton Alston.

“I am so appreciative of each of the girls as well as their amazing families,” commented Coach Brian Johnson. “It will be so much fun following each of you at the next level.”

Taking the court, the Lady Hornets were quick on the ball and led the Gators throughout the whole game. The players of the game included senior Mackenzie Mori, junior Reilly Chernovetz who earned game Most Valuable Player nod (MVP), junior Tessa Porch, and sophomore Alexa Huckaby.

The team record is now 10-5 for the season. The Lady Hornets return to the court for a match up against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Hopkins School on Monday, February 3, at 4:30 p.m.
