League Win for Boys’ Varsity Baseball

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Rye Country Day School for its opening game of the season, winning 3-2.

Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, the team was ready to play. It was a back-and-forth effort between the Hornets and the Wildcats. Junior and starting pitcher Nic Scillia took the mound for all seven innings, only allowing two earned runs and seven strikeouts. Junior Billy Cole went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI as sophomore Leo Dottori scored his first run of the season. Junior Amato Civitello had one hit and one run as junior Eric Jagielow had one run; and sophomores AJ Park and Jey Scanlon also had success at the plate with hits.

The team stays home for a scrimmage against Londonderry School on Thursday, March 27, at 4 p.m.
