Here Comes the Judge!

Lisa Sokoloff 1976, who was elected a civil court judge of District 3 in Manhattan, N.Y., started her new job on the bench this month. Lisa, elected in the fall, will be formally inducted in February.
 
A practicing attorney with 28 years of courtroom experience, Lisa is a past president of the New York Women’s Bar Association and the Jewish Lawyers Guild. She spent over 10 years as a pro bono special master in both the Civil and Supreme Courts.

Additionally, Lisa has volunteered for numerous organizations supporting the needs of women, children and the LBGT communities She is graduate of Vassar College 1980 and Boston University School of Law 1983. Her family—especially HH alum sister Meg Sokoloff Edelson 1987—is extremely proud of Lisa and her accomplishments.

According to Meg, the family “recognizes that Lisa’s education at Hamden Hall laid the foundation for her success.”
