He is a member of Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. Richard has done pioneering work on fathers' rights and has authored nine books, some of which have dealt with custody issues; namely Fighting for Your Children and Solomon's Choice. Richard’s sports books include Big East Confidential, Inside Women's College Basketball, and Roger Federer: Back On Top. Richard has two daughters, Lindsay and Sarah. Sarah attended Hamden Hall in Middle School. The family lives in Westport, Conn. As an aside—upon learning that David Wade 1993, chief of staff for Secretary of State John Kerry, was a fellow award recipient, Richard noted that he and the statesman were law students together at BC back in the seventies.
