Edward Alling, U.S. Army 1962 - 1971

Retired Captain Edward Alling is a 1957 graduate of Hamden Hall. Ed served two tours in Vietnam, one from 1967 - 1969 and another from 1970 to 1971.

Ed graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1962 with a degree in accounting and had joined the ROTC prior to enlisting in the Army. After his honorable discharge in 1972, Ed got a job in the Accounting Department at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and later worked for Fidelity Telecom Group in New Jersey as their controller.

He married Catherine Ballantyne in 1978 and the couple had three "wonderful" children followed by six grandchildren and and one great grandchild.
