Victory Laps for Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving
The Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Team traveled for an away meet against Canterbury School and Holy Child on Saturday, January 18, with the Boys’ winning 50-29 against Canterbury.
Juniors Cameron Puhl and Jack Shi, sophomore Jehan Mody, and seventh-grader Leo Connors placed first in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:10.59. Senior Eric Huang placed first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:28.76, and sophomore Paxon Campbell placed first in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:04.81.
For the Girls’ Team, freshman Josephine Nicotra placed second in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:10.67 and third in the 50-Yard Freestyle with a time of 27.72. Junior Julia Scalmani placed third in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:31.96 and sophomore Angelina Nicotra placed second in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:15.48.
For the 1 meter diving, junior Zoe Perrine placed first for the Girls’ Team with a score of 156.70. Seventh-grader Leo Connor placed first for the Boys’ Team with a score of 125.45.
“What an incredible effort by both the Boys’ and Girls’ teams in the meet this past weekend against Canterbury and Holy Child,” said Coach Jen Lyman. “The Boys’ Team continues to showcase their competitive spirit and teamwork as the Girls’ Team reinforced their growth and potential as their efforts were nothing short of inspiring.”
The Boys’ Team record for the season is 3-1 and the Girls’ Team record for the season is 2-3. The team returns to the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium for a tri-meet against Williams School, Kingswood Oxford, and Marianapolis School on Wednesday, January 29, at 4 p.m.
