Boys’ Varsity Basketball Closes Out Season Victorious

The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team traveled for an away game against Portsmouth Abbey School on February 22 winning 64-58.

It was a back-and-forth effort by the Hornets and the Ravens, but the team secured the final victory. Seniors Jaden Iannaccone and Ben Miller led the way with a combined 25 points as junior Amato Civitello netted 11 points, and sophomore Justin Ocasico also netted 11 points. Other top players included sophomores Christian Cournoo and Caleb Chapman and freshman Jacob Huckaby.

“Great team win on the road as everyone came together and played well as a unit,” said Justin.

Coach Sean Doherty noted that the team played well and fought hard for the win.

The team returns to the court for the quarterfinal game of the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) League tournament against Brunswick School on Monday, February 24, at 4:30 p.m.
