Varsity Softball Slides Past Opponents in Shutout Game
The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team hosted Miss Hall’s School for a non-league afternoon game on Wednesday, April 2, winning 15-0.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, freshman Chloe Carling took the mound for six successful innings. She struck out 12 players and allowed no earned hits. At the plate, Chloe was 1-for-2 with two runs.
Senior Summer Krajcir went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBIs, two runs, and two doubles as fellow senior Melanie Carling had three runs and one stolen base. Senior Mara Patterson scored one run off a single as sophomore Mia Verderame singled, scoring one run.
Coach Laura Montone noted that the team kept it locked down the whole game. The team record is now 2-0 for the season.
The Lady Hornets return to the field for an away game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival St. Luke’s School on Friday, April 4, at 4:30 p.m.
