Boys’ Varsity Baseball Stay on Top

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greenwich Country Day School for an afternoon game on Wednesday, April 9, winning 8-2.


Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, junior and starting pitcher Amato Civitello struck out seven players and only allowed one earned run off two hits. Junior Eric Jagielow closed out the game, striking out two players and only allowing one run.

At the plate, Amato also found success going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one home run, and four RBIs. Senior Logan Charboneau had two RBIs and one double as junior Billy Cole had one RBI. Sophomore Leo Dottori had one hit and one run.

Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record has improved to 5-0 in league play.

The team returns to the field for a rematch against Greenwich Country Day School on Thursday, April 10, at 4:30 p.m.
