April Amelin, Hamden Hall Class of 1996, and Colin Caplan, Hamden Hall Class of 1997, exchanged wedding vows Dec. 27, 2016. The couple was married in a civil ceremony in Amalfi, Italy—New Haven's sister city. “We took a trip together—just the two of us —to Italy on what we called a wedding moon!” Colin shared. “It was a fabulous trip, and we had the most remarkable, simple, and romantic wedding we could ever ask for. “ Back home in Connecticut, April is a children’s behavior therapist. Colin is owner and tour guide of TASTE OF NEW HAVEN and the upcoming ELM CITY PARTY BIKE (he promises to keep us posted on this exciting venture!). Back to the newlyweds, Colin said that he and April met in Upper School at Hamden Hall and dated the summer before she left for college. “Although we had seen each other around town every few years, we randomly met up two years ago at the Owl Shop (owned by HH alumnus Glen Greenberg 1985) and could not stop seeing each other! On the one-year anniversary of that night, May 1, I proposed to April high up on Harkness Tower.” In Italy, photographer Emanuele Anastasio captured their wedding. Cheers to April and Colin!
