1949 Alum Shares a Memory

Jodi Amatulli
Victor Richer, Class of 1949, recently took a walk down memory lane at Hamden Hall. Vic, who lives in Great Falls, Mont., shared the following memory. “I used my new 16mm projector to present a program of silent movies in the old assembly hall which included Mickey Mouse, The Lone Ranger and Our Gang. This raised a total of $12.50 which was the beginning of a fund designated to build a gymnasium, since none existed at that time. Headmaster E. Stanley Taylor and his wife, as well as Mr. Ernest Russ (science and the athletic program), were all delighted.” Thanks for your memory, Victory. We all enjoyed reading of your efforts “back in the day!”
