League Win for Boys’ Varsity Basketball
The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team hosted Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Rye Country Day School for an afternoon game on Tuesday, January 14, winning 83-63.
With home court advantage at the Beckerman Athletic Center, senior Ben Miller led the Hornets with 30 points. Sophomore Christian Cournoo netted 17 points with senior Jaden Iannaccone close behind with 11 points. Other scorers included junior Amato Civitello, freshman Jacob Huckaby, and eighth-grader Massa Toure.
“The game was a team effort, with great ball movement ultimately being what won us the game along with good defense,” said Christian.
Coach Sean Doherty noted it was a great game with exceptional play from all players on the court.
The team returns to the court for a game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greenwich Country Day School on Saturday, January 25, at noon.
