Girls’ Varsity Basketball Advances to FAA Semifinals
The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team advanced to the semifinals of the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) League Tournament after winning the quarterfinal game against Greenwich Country Day School on February 24. The final score was 74-63.
With home court advantage, the Lady Hornets were ready to play. Senior Mackenzie Mori led the way with 30 points as fellow senior Emma Olausson followed up with 19 points and junior Reilly Chernovetz netted 12 points. Junior Tessa Porch and sophomore Andrea Crump had huge defensive plays and scored a combined nine points.
“The energy was extremely high, and everyone contributed on the court to the win,” noted Coach Brian Johnson.
The FAA semifinal game against Sacred Heart Greenwich is scheduled for on Wednesday, February 26, at 4:30 p.m.
