The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team returned to the Beckerman Athletic Center for Senior Night and to play the last home game of the regular season against Masters School on Saturday, February 18, winning 76-49.
Prior to the game, the three senior players: Matteo Crisanti, Alex Puhl, and Jordan Vermiglio were honored for their hard work and contributions to the team over the last four years as part of the Senior Night Ceremony.
“You all have contributed so much to our program over the years, I can’t begin to do it justice in one speech,” said Coach Sean Doherty. “All I can say is thank you. I’m so proud of each of you and Hamden Hall Basketball will miss each of you tremendously!”
Taking the court, the Hornets led the Lions throughout the whole game with juniors Mason Gorham and Ethan Bessoni and sophomore Ben Miller controlling the ball. They tallied 33 points for the team while Alex and Matteo took advantage of rebounds to add 21 points to the scoreboard and secure the final win.
“Everyone played really hard, which is what matters most, and it’s going to go a long way for us as we approach the FAA tournament,” said junior Alex Prezioso.
The team returns to the court on Tuesday, February 21, at 5 p.m. to face off against King School in the first game of the Fairchester Athletic Association playoffs.
