Split Match for Boys’ Varsity Water Polo

The Boys’ Varsity Water Polo Team traveled to Andover School for two matches on Saturday, October 7.

The first game against Choate was a competitive match as the Hornets lost 8-3. After the loss, the team rallied together and showcased a complete team effort to defeat Andover in the second match. The final score was 12-4 in favor of Hamden Hall.

Senior and goalie Connor Jermain had eight saves in the net while junior Anthony Ferneini had five goals and one steal. Junior Eric Huang had one goal, sophomore Jack Cucchiarelli had three goals, and seventh-grader Blake Zeitlin had two goals.

Coach Martha Phelan noted the team record is now 6-1 overall and 5-1 in NEPSAC play.

The team has a busy week ahead with a match at the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium on Wednesday, October 11, at 4:30 p.m. followed by two away matches on Saturday, October 14, at Williston-Northampton School. The first match against Deerfield Academy begins at 3:15 p.m. with the second match against Williston-Northampton at 4:45 p.m.
