Boys’ Varsity Baseball Advances to FAA Championship
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed King School for the Fairchester Athletic Association League semifinal game on Tuesday, May 14. The team won 5-1 and has now advanced to the final championship.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, sophomore and starting pitcher Nic Scillia took the mound, allowing two hits and striking out one player through four innings. Senior Ryan Lynch closed out the game in the final three innings, allowing no runs to score.
The Hornets saw success at the plate as sophomore Billy Cole went 2-for-2 with a home run and RBI as junior Asher Wasserman went 2-for-3 with a double and home run. Senior Brady Chernovetz extended the lead for the Hornets with a run in the fifth inning and two stolen bases.
The team also won its previous game against Hopkins School with a score of 7-0 on Thursday, May 9.
The team stays home at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex for the FAA Championship game on Friday, May 17, against Brunswick School.
