Tyler Slomkowski, Machinery Technician, U.S. Coast Guard
Following graduation from the University of Connecticut in 2011, Tyler Slomkowski, Class of 2007, served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USCGC Sledge in Maryland, Air Station Atlantic City, NJ. He had been assigned to the icebreaker USCGC Shackle in Portland, Maine, as a machinery technician.
Tyler completed his MBA in Spring of 2017. Competing on various Coast Guard and joint military hockey teams, he has helped raise over $100,000 for various charity organizations. His enlistment ended on Jan. 1, 2017, and he was being considered for Direct Commission as an Officer in the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
