Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Catch CISAC Titles
The Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Team captured titles at the Connecticut Independent School Athletic Conference (CISAC) Championships on Wednesday, February 15, with the Boys’ Team scoring 229 points and the Girls’ scoring 191.
For the Boys’ Team, freshmen Heath Schwarz placed first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:13.79 while Cameron Puhl finished in second with a time of 2:19.40. Seniors Patrick Cucchiarelli and Evan Huang, junior Connor Jermain, and sophomore Eric Huang finished first in the 400 Relay with a time of 3:27.69.
For the Girls’ Team, senior Isabella Ferneini placed first in the 50 Free with a time of 26.58 and junior Mason Rickey placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.61. Sophomore Alexis Velez, freshmen Emma Cunningham and Jiali Yang, and seventh-grader Vivian Martin placed second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:49.25.
Coach Jen Lyman commented that she is ecstatic about both team’s times and scores for the meet and everyone looks forward to finishing out the season strong at the New England Swimming Championships, which will take place on Saturday, March 4, at Cornerstone Aquatic Center.
