The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team welcomed Harvey School for its first game of the season on Wednesday, December 4, winning 90-72.
Taking the court at the Beckerman Athletic Center, senior and captain Ben Miller led the Hornets with 34 points as sophomore Christian Cournoo netted 17 points. Senior Jaden Iannaccone and juniors Amato Civitello and Massa Toure netted a combined 28 points.
“It was a hard-fought victory, but key players and effective coaching stepped up when needed,” said Christian. “This win sets a positive tone for the season, and we're excited to build on this momentum going forward.”
Coach Sean Doherty noted that it was a nice win to start the season as Harvey knocked the team out of the playoffs last season, and the team looks forward to building on the victory.
The team returns to the court for a game against Kent School at the Beckerman Athletic Center on Friday, December 6, at 6 p.m.
