Varsity Swimming Wins Home Meet

The Co-ed Varsity Swimming Team welcomed Christian Heritage School, Holy Child, and Convent of the Sacred Heart at the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium for a meet on Saturday, February 3, with both teams winning against Christian Heritage.
 
For the Boys’ Team, senior Connor Jermain, juniors Anthony Ferneini and Eric Huang, and eighth-grader Frey Wang placed first in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:53.99. Sophomore Heath Schwarz placed second in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:18.91 while seventh-grader Blake Zeitlin placed first in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:06.85
 
The Boys’ Team won against Christian Heritage with a score of 48-38. Their overall record has improved to 6-2.
 
For Diving, freshman Leo Dottori placed first with a score of 100.95 and freshman Jehan Mody placed second with a score of 100.40.
 
For the Girls’ Team, senior Mason Rickey placed first in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.84 and the 100-Yard Fly with a time of 1:03.68. Sophomore Julie Scalmani placed second in the 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:24.48 followed by freshman Alessandra Sticca in third with a time of 2:29.22
 
The Girls’ Team won against Christian Heritage with a score of 82-0 and lost to both Holy Child and Convent of the Sacred Heart. Their overall record is now 3-7.
 
The team returns to the pool in an away meet against Ethel Walker School and Wilbraham & Monson Academy for the final match-up of the season on Wednesday, February 7, at 4 p.m.
