Co-ed Varsity Swimming Outswims Opponents

The Co-ed Varsity Swimming Team traveled to the Ethel Walker School for a dual meet against Ethel Walker and Wilbraham & Monson Academy on Wednesday, February 7, with the Boys’ Team winning their match.

For the Boys’ Team, senior Connor Jermain placed first in the 50-Yard Freestyle with a time of 23.73 and sophomore Tyler Tagliarini placed first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:11.75. Junior Anthony Ferneini placed first in the 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:58.99 and junior Eric Huang placed first in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:03.04

The Boys’ Team won against Wilbraham & Monson Academy with a score of 85-75. Their overall record is now 7-2. 

For the Girls’ Team, senior Mason Rickey, junior Alexis Velez, sophomore Julia Scalmani, and freshman Alessandra Sticca placed first in the 400-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 4:33.74. Mason placed first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:25.63. The Girls’ lost both matches and their overall record is now 3-9. 

The team now heads into the first championship meet beginning on Friday, February 9. The FAA Diving Championship will take place at Brunswick School at 6 p.m., and the FAA Swimming Championship will take place at Hopkins School on Saturday, February 10, at noon.

Coach Jen Lyman noted that both teams are looking to build excitement, confidence, and energy at the FAA Championship to carry into next week's CISAC Championships where they look to defend both Women's and Men's Champion titles.
