The Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team welcomed Ethel Walker School for an afternoon match at the James R. Maggart Tennis Courts on Wednesday, April 12, winning the game 6-1.
In the singles match, eighth-grader Rebecca Danishevsky in the first spot won both her sets with a score of 6-3 and 6-0. In the second spot, sophomore Theodora Aslan won both her sets with a score of 6-0 and 6-1. In the third spot, junior Rachel Danishevsky won both her sets with a score of 6-4 and 6-0.
In the doubles match, senior Vanessa Gold and freshman Addison Lewis won their match with a score of 6-0 and 6-1. Eighth-grader Zhanna Milani and seventh-grader Anna Aslan won their match with a score of 6-0 and 6-1. Freshmen Grace Yang and Linda Chen won their set with a score of 8-0.
“Great first home match,” said Vanessa. “The singles had great serves and the doubles had fantastic returns.”
Coach Bob Scarella noted he is proud of the great effort and development of the team so far this season.
The team returns to the court for a match against Convent of the Sacred Heart on Saturday, April 15, at 3 p.m.
