The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team returned to the Skiff Street Athletic Complex for its final home game of the season against Hopkins School on Friday, May 12, winning 6-5.
Sophomore and starting pitcher Payton Collins took the mound and pitched a strong game. It was a battle between the Hornets and Hilltoppers before the team scored two runs in the sixth inning. Senior Anna Soliwoda led off the seventh inning with a double before Payton took to the plate and hit a grand slam, securing the game win.
“It was an amazing game,” commented Coach Laura Montone.
The team also honored its seniors Daniela McGovern, Ellie Ratta, and Anna Soliwoda with a ceremony and giving out flowers to each player.
