Boys’ Varsity Basketball Shoot to the Playoffs

The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team traveled for an away game against King School on Thursday, February 15, winning 69-66, and securing a spot in the Fairchester Athletic Association League playoffs.

Senior and captain Mason Gorham fired up the team and led the way with 17 points as junior Ben Miller scored 15 points and senior Alex Prezioso scored 13 points.

It was a defensive battle between the Hornets and Vikings going into the second half, but seniors Ethan Bessoni and Ryan Stratton and freshman Caleb Chapman all netted points to lead the team to victory.

“Great road-league win to secure a home game advantage in the playoffs," said Coach Sean Doherty. "We are at full-strength now and love the way our guys responded to the tough environment on the road.”

The team hosts Greens Farms Academy at the Beckerman Athletic Center for the quarterfinal game of the FAA League Tournament on Tuesday, February 20, at 5 p.m.
