Home Victory for Boys’ Varsity Baseball

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team won its first home game of the season against Putnam Science Academy on Wednesday, March 27, with a score of 2-0.

Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, sophomore Nicolas Scillia pitched five scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Senior Ryan Lynch took the mound for one and two-third innings not allowing a single hit, and sophomore Amato Civitello closed the game with one pitch for the final out.

At the plate, senior Gavin Lyons and junior Logan Charboneau led the way with two RBIs respectively, allowing two runs to score and securing the victory.

Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 2-0 for the season.

The team returns to the field for an afternoon game against Fairchester Athletic Association rival Greens Farms Academy on Thursday, March 28, at 4:30 p.m.
