The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Avon Old Farms for an afternoon game on Monday, April 29, winning 5-1.
Senior Gavin Lyons took the mound for the Hornets, striking out two players and walking none for one and two-thirds innings. Senior Ryan Lynch closed out the game as the relief pitcher, striking out five players.
At the plate, junior Logan Charboneau put the Hornets on the board with a sacrifice fly in the first as fellow junior Asher Wasserman hit a sacrifice fly in the third and solo home run in the sixth inning. Senior Brady Chernovetz singled also in the sixth inning and sophomore Amato Civitello had three hits.
The team returns to the field for a game against St. Luke’s School on Tuesday, April 30, at 4:30 p.m.
