Stephen M. Babbitz, Past Parent, Past Grandparent

Stephen M. Babbitz of Orange, died on February 23 at the age of 81. He is survived by his daughter, Mara Babbitz Ginsberg, Hamden Hall Class of 1985 alumna and past parent, son David, Hamden Hall Class of 1986, several grandchildren, two of whom are Hamden Hall alumni, Nicholas Ginsberg, Class of 2010, and Abigail Ginsberg, Class of 2011, two great grandchildren, and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Susan, whom he married in 1964.

After graduating from Amity High School, he attended University of Bridgeport. Stephen's family owned and operated retail store Herman's Army Navy in Orange, which later became the Pants Pocket. After leaving retail he spent 30 years at Norwalk Cove Marina. He was a member of the volunteer fire department in his community.
