The Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team welcomed Cheshire Academy to the James R. Maggart Court for a match on Monday, April 15, winning 5-2.
In the singles match, sophomore Max Rickey came back from a deficit to win his set with a score of 6-2 and 10-4. Sophomore Cole Christman won his set with a score of 6-1 and finished the match off with a tiebreaker win with a score of 10-7. Sophomore Andrew Yang won his set with a score of 6-0 and 10-4.
“It was a great team effort with everyone playing smart strategic tennis,” said Coach Kevin Brueler. “It is great to see the team competing at this level and closing out matches this season.”
Coach Brueler noted that this marks the first win against Cheshire Academy in several seasons. The team also won its match against Canterbury School on Tuesday, April 16, with a score of 7-0.
The team travels for a match against Masters School on Saturday, April 20, at 1 p.m.
