The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team took on Fairchester Athletic League rival St. Luke’s School on Tuesday, April 30, winning 9-1.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, sophomore Nic Scillia led off on the mound, striking out six players over four innings. Sophomore Eric Jagielow threw two shutout innings as the mid reliever before freshman AJ Park took over to close out the game.
Senior Brady Chernovetz and sophomore Billy Cole got the Hornets on the board in the first inning as they both singled, allowing runs to score. Senior Will McGarry tripled in the bottom of the third inning to extend the lead while junior Asher Wasserman stole two bases and junior Logan Charboneau drove in two hits to win the game.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record has now improved to 16-2 overall and 11-0 in the FAA.
The team returns to the field for an away game against Kings School on Thursday, May 2, at 4:30 p.m.
