Boys’ Varsity Baseball Advance to NEPSAC Semifinals
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team has now advanced to the semifinal game of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) following its 3-2 win against King School on Monday, May 20.
With home field advantage at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, sophomore and starting pitcher Billy Cole took the mound, striking out seven players. Senior Ryan Lynch took over as relief pitcher for the final two innings.
At the plate, senior Will McGarry got the Hornets on the board with a hit while senior Brady Chernovetz and sophomore Amato Civitello both had one run each. Senior Gavin Lyons had three hits and two RBIs to win the game in the seventh inning.
Coach Brad Chernovetz commented that it was a close matchup and the team is looking towards the next game.
The team stays home for the NESPAC semifinal game on Wednesday, May 22, against Marianapolis School at 4:45 p.m.
