Boys’ Varsity Water Polo Team Sweep Rivals

The Boys’ Varsity Water Polo Team hosted Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Hopkins School at the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium for a match on Friday, September 27, winning 19-11.
 
Senior Anthony Ferneini scored seven goals, three steals, and two shot blocks for the Hornets while junior Heath Schwarz had five goals and three steals and junior Jack Cucchiarelli had two goals, two assists, and two steals. Freshman Jehan Mody scored two goals with one steal and eighth-grader Blake Zeitlin had two goals. Senior Eric Huang had nine saves in the net to earn the final win.
 
Coach Martha Phelan noted that this years’ team is small but strong with 14 players led by senior captains Anthony Ferneini, Eric Huang, and Calvin Gormley.
 
The team travels to Choate Rosemary Hall for a double match against Choate and Andover School on Saturday, October 5, at 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.
