Comeback Win for Boys’ Varsity Tennis

Following a few on-the-road losses, the Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team welcomed Wooster School for a home match at the James R. Maggart Tennis Courts on Monday, May 6, winning 6-1.

For the singles match, junior Matt Maniatty won in the first spot, junior Jacob Schonberger won in the second spot, and sophomore Max Rickey won his set in the fourth spot.

For the doubles match, sophomores Kaelen Annes and Cole Christman won their set to bring their record to 7-5. Senior Will Christman and junior Grayson Nicholas won their set to bring their record to 9-3.

The team also won its previous match against The Forman School on Saturday, May 4, with a score of 5-2. The season record is now 7-6 overall.

“As a whole, the team is competing at a much higher level than last year,” said Coach Kevin Brueler. “They are fighting hard on the court and the hard work is paying off. With only two matches left, the team is looking to make a run at a winning record for the season.”
