Grade 4 Learns the Whys of Whaling
There is no shortage of larger-than-life stories surrounding whales and the whaling industry, and Grade 4 students learned all about life at sea for whaling crew members through a history-to-go program. The hands-on lesson was part of the school’s partnership with Mystic Seaport.
With special guest educator Ms. Kayleen from Mystic Seaport, students enjoyed a presentation on the whys of whaling and its importance in the 1800s along with a look into what crew members would carry in their bags for long voyages.
