Richard H. Ezold Sr., Past Grandparent

Richard H. Ezold Sr. of Branford passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 5, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. He was 85. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esther Santore Ezold, twin daughters Sharon Ezold-Villano and Shelley Massey, son Richard Ezold Jr., five grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Three of his grandchildren are graduates of Hamden Hall; Morgan Massey Graham, Class of 2011, Taylor Massey Alessi, Class of 2011, and Brandon Massey, Class of 2016. Son-in-law Robert Massey Jr. is a member of the Hamden Hall Board of Trustees.

Richard was one of the owners of the well-known Forbes Diner in New Haven. He was employed for the past 30 years as an Operations Coordinator at Massey's Glass, owned by his son-in-law. He served in the Army Reserves for eight years. He was an outstanding basketball player in his youth, making all-state for East Haven High School class of 1956 and was inducted into the East Haven Sports Hall of Fame.
