Dudley "Dud" Blanchard of Harwich, Mass., died on September 8 at the age of 98. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, four children, two of which are Hamden Hall alumnae, Doreen Blanchard Milligan, Class of 1972, and Carla Blanchard, Class of 1975, five stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dud was a graduate of the Yale University School of Engineering and enrolled in the Navy ROTC at Yale during WWII. He went on to serve in the family business, Wyatt Coal & Oil (later renamed Wyatt Energy in the early 1980s), which was founded in 1935 by his father and uncle.
